Approach
We have a tried and tested approach which we are able to adapt to the circumstances of the project. It is based on the Microsoft SDD (Solutions Development Discipline) Model. There are typically the following phases:-
Outline Proposal
We will produce with you a Vision/Scope statement to define the scope of the problem being addressed and the vision of the proposed solution. This is where we listen to you and understand what we are addressing. We describe the technology available and how the different options suit your requirements. Together we construct the application goal and map out how we both work together to achieve the solution, including timescale, and indications of charges.
Functional Specification
The next phase is to production of the Functional Specification. This is the document that describes in detail the agreed solution, with detailed costing and timescale. It restates Vision/Scope Statement to ensure the rest of the document does not stray from the goal. Agreed elements of the Specification may be described in the form of a prototype. Test and Installation Plans are included with screen and report layouts.
Development and Inventive Acceptance
Development is completed at our offices, but you can remain closely involved in this phase, with review meetings and beta testing. You can be assured that the high standards of code and control exercised internally leads to a robust, flexible, final application. We can phase delivery, with each phase being subject to rigorous Inventive Acceptance prior to being passed to you for your acceptance.
Installation and Your Acceptance
We will install the application at your offices ensuring it is effectively implemented on any existing hardware and checking that links to the desktop or third party applications are operating as set out in the Functional Specification. We will also provide necessary training in the application, and in how you can find answers to the types of question that arise from the modern desktop. We use Microsoft technology allowing us to integrate with internet applications and desktop products, including MS Query, Excel, Word, Project and Exchange.
Installation and Review
We always encourage you to take up a support agreement. This is part of the on-going partnership we aim to provide, being available to tackle application issues, but also technical questions regarding, for example, links with desktop tools, and packaged software you may be considering.
At the end of the project cycle we will review the project internally and with you. We are always looking to improve our performance and relationship.
